<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the damage of a first gear provided in an image forming apparatus main body and a second gear provided in an image forming unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the image forming apparatus main body having the first gear, and the image forming unit which can be inserted in the image forming apparatus main body, is equipped with a rotatable rotating member, and the second gear positioned at the edge part in the inserting direction of the image forming unit, meshed with the first gear by dropping downward by gravity when the image forming unit is inserted in the image forming apparatus main body and receiving driving force from the first gear in such a state that it is meshed with the first gear so as to rotate the rotating member, and has the center of gravity on the more rear side than the center in the inserting direction of the image forming unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
