IMAGE GENERATION DEVICE AND IMAGE GENERATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for easily generating an image in which a specific three-dimensional object is highlighted.

SOLUTION: The image generation device for generating an image of a plurality of three-dimensional objects comprises a first drawing means for generating image data from a three-dimensional object to be highlighted and storing it in a first frame buffer; a second drawing means for generating image data from a three-dimensional object not to be highlighted and storing it in a second frame buffer, and an image generation means for generating a display image with the specific three-dimensional object highlighted without being hidden by the other three-dimensional object by translucently superimposing the image data stored in the second frame buffer on the image data stored in the first frame buffer. The image generation means preferably uses an accumulation buffer to translucently superimpose the image data.
