<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometrics system for detecting characteristics of a living body, collating the characteristics with registered biological data and identifying an individual, the system having improved accuracy of individual identification of 1: n authentication. <P>SOLUTION: In 1: n authentication, a plurality of pieces of different biological data of a user are registered in a database (4), a control unit (3), when one piece of biological data is collated with the registered other biological data, determines whether other similar biological data is registered. When the other similar biological data is registered, the control unit (3) collates respective other biological data of the plurality of pieces of similar biological data with detected other biological data to specify an individual. When either of biological data of another person is similar to either of the own biological data, another own biological data is collated with the biological data of the other person, so that it is possible to correctly identify the individual without changing thresholds of similarity and to prevent the valid individual from not being identified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
