摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variation detector for a battery pack which can measure variations in capacity among each cell in the battery pack even during loading. SOLUTION: During loading, the variation detector detects any cells with variation in capacity exceeding the predetermined value by performing the processing to measure a total voltage equal to the overall battery pack voltage and a single cell voltage simultaneously for all the cells sequentially, and by comparing each cell voltage and total voltage measured simultaneously. A total voltage of the battery pack is a sum of the terminal voltages for all the cells, and the total voltage is changed with any change in each cell voltage due to variation in the loading status. Therefore, the total voltage and a single cell voltage are measured simultaneously, then the total voltage and cell voltage at the time of measurement are compared, the total voltage to be compared is changed with any change in measured value for each cell due to variation in the loading status at the time of reading of each cell, thereby assuring standardization based on the total voltage in spite of different point of time for measuring each cell voltage.
