PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AGC circuit producing a stabilized output through simple and efficient feedback control. SOLUTION: The AGC circuit performs constant output control of an amplifier by performing feedback from a difference obtained between the output from an amplifier and a predetermined reference value to the gain control terminal of the amplifier through a loop filter. The circuit comprises a timing control unit for generating a timing signal of relatively fast rate when the magnitude of the difference thus determined is relatively large, and generating a timing signal of relatively slow rate when the magnitude of the difference is relatively small; and a gain control circuit for feeding the output from the loop filter back to the gain control terminal of the amplifier according to the rate timing at the timing control section.
