PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio recording apparatus with ease of use capable of attaching a chapter to an effective time even when video recording is started at an optional time. SOLUTION: The video audio recording apparatus is configured such that when starting video recording, the video audio recording apparatus acquires information of a time interval for attaching a chapter selected in advance by a user, calculates 0 minute every hour and times by each time interval from the 0 minute every hour, stores the calculated times to a memory as chapter information, and writes the chapter information to a recording medium when the video recording is finished.
