PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor and processing method in which an analog signal input from a signal source can be acquired precisely and precision in failure judgment of a circuit related to output of the analog signal can be enhanced. SOLUTION: Switching operation of a first multiplexer (multiplexer 14) is controlled such that the time series switching order of output signals from a plurality of signal input sections (signal input section 12 and signal input section 13) has symmetrical first half part and second half part, and the switching operation of a second multiplexer (multiplexer 16) is controlled depending on the switching operation of the first multiplexer. Failure judgment is performed by comparing the total sum or the average value of sampling data in symmetrical relation output from the second multiplexer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
