PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device with a simple constitution where the remaining of foreign matters at the circumferential position of a roller is securely eliminated, thus the generation of the defect in cleaning caused by the projection-shaped deformation of a belt at the circumferential position can be securely prevented without causing the increase of cost. SOLUTION: The cleaning device is provided with: a first cleaning member 12A abutted against the surface of a belt 6C after the transferring of a toner image and capable of removing foreign matters such as toner and paper powders; and a second cleaning member 12B abutted against the surface of a roller 6A arranged at a position equivalent to that after the transferring of the toner image in the roller around which the belt 6C is wound. The first cleaning member 12A is confronted with the roller 6A with the belt 6C interposed, and the second cleaning member 12B is confronted with the circumferential face other than the circumferential region in the belt 6C in the rotating direction of the roller 6A.
