PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a running-in operation method of rolling bearings which can be employed as grease-lubricated bearings for a machine-tool spindle to shorten the time for running-in. SOLUTION: In the running-in operation method of rolling bearings wherein the rotational speed of the rolling bearings is increased stepwise up to a rotational speed for operation, the whole period of time for the running-in of the rolling bearings is divided in a plurality of operation periods of time in different rotational speeds, and a cooling periods are provided between adjacent operation periods. Specifically, the cooling is carried out by stopping the operation of the rolling bearing or by indefinitely reducing the rotational speed of the rolling bearings. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
