A method of managing renewals of subscriptions for the parking of vehicles in a geographical zone in which parking is regulated with pay-and-display machines that are installed therein. According to the invention, a person first obtains a subscription from a parking management operator for authorization to park one or more vehicles for a first determined period. The subscriber and the vehicle(s) are identified by identification elements which are recorded in a database of a central subscription management server ( 8 ) and parking is controlled by a control officer. In order to renew a subscription for a new period, the subscriber presents himself/herself at one ( 1 ) of the pay-and-display machines which communicates with the server ( 8 ), identifies himself/herself using the subscriber identification elements ( 2 ) and renews the subscription with the aid of the pay-and-display machine ( 1 ).
