<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compression device which can hold a time required until output of a coded data and can acquire a favorable image with less sense of discomfort even when images with wide changes between the images are taken continuously. <P>SOLUTION: A first image compression part 13 for compression-coding current image data, and a second image compression part 15 for compression-coding image data of a frame preceding the current image data based on a second compression condition are provided. By obtaining the compression condition of the second image compression part from a data volume of the coded data from the first image compression part, the data volume of the second image compression part is approximately equal to a target coded data volume. When the data volume of the coded data outputs from the first image compression part 13 is greater than the target coded data volume, the coded data from the second image compression part 15 are selected to be output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
