PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix substrate without fall in brightness of electroluminescence elements, and equipped with appropriate peripheral circuits occupying a small area. SOLUTION: The active matrix substrate comprises peripheral circuits for supplying current to EL elements provided for each pixel, and corresponding to EL elements, and further comprises a retaining element C which retains a control voltage, a first active element T1 connected to the retaining element C and supplying current to a light-emitting part OLED based on a control voltage, and a second active element T2 connected to the retaining element C and controlling the charging and discharging of the retaining element. In particular, the second active element T2 is configured as a multiple-control-terminal type active element. As a result, there are no fluctuations in the programmed current.
