METHOD FOR PRODUCING BROMINATED AROMATIC COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing a brominated aromatic compound under a mild condition in good yield with industrially easy operability. SOLUTION: [1] The method for producing the brominated aromatic compound involves reacting a bromination agent with an aromatic compound having≥60°C melting point or softening point in a reaction solvent containing a nitro compound. [2] The reaction solvent is a reaction solvent substantially free from a halogenated alkane-based solvent in the production method of [1].
