PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply check the machining state using a camera in a machine tool. SOLUTION: This camera 8 for the machine tool is used attached to a machine tool 17 such as a machining center formed by having a head with a main spindle 18 detachably mounting a tool 4 at its tip, and a table 16 for mounting a workpiece 15; is provided with a chuck object part 2 having an end which is conformed to the shape of a chuck 1 detachably mounting the tool 4 and formed into a cylindrical shape, a square shape or a tapered shape; and image pickup units 7a and 7b are disposed in the opposite end of the chuck object part 2 so as to bring the workpiece 15 or the table 16 for mounting the workpiece 15 into view and capture them by attaching the chuck object part 2 of the camera 8 in the chuck part 1 of the machine tool 1.
