The invention relates to a method for the control of a spinning cycle of a washing machine having a detergent solution tub (3) supported by a spring in a container (1), in which a drum (8) rotatable about a substantially horizontal axis is mounted, further having a variable speed controlled drive (5) driving the drum (8), having a device (2) for detecting a movement of the detergent solution tub, the movement being caused by the uneven distribution of laundry (7) in the drum (8), and further having a program control (10) which controls the spinning cycle. The method comprises the following steps: a) accelerating the drum (8) to a first rotational speed (n1), wherein the laundry (7) rests substantially firmly against the shell of the drum (8), b) detecting a movement of the detergent solution tub (3) in at least one direction for at least a predetermined amount of time during the rotation of the drum (8) at a rotational speed (n) that is greater than or equal to the first rotational speed (n1), c) determining an amplitude (A) of the movement for the determined direction, d) determining a change (dA/dn) of the movement amplitude (A) via the rotational speed (n), and e) controlling the spinning cycle as a function of the change (dA/dn) of the movement amplitude (A).
