Reactor (10) comprises a feed distributor (16) with deviating units (18, 18~, 20) structured so that effluent from the outlet opening of a feed line (40, 40~) is deflected into a circular flow. 10-80 % of the reactor cross-section is filled by the deviating units. An independent claim is also included for a method for anaerobically cleaning effluent using the reactor.
