A method and apparatus for controlling operation of a vehicular system in a motor vehicle including a plurality of parts, the method including detecting at least two indicating signals, each indicating a pre-defined state of a part of a vehicle, generating an inhibiting signal when the indicating signals are detected, and inhibiting operation of at least one vehicular system in response to the inhibiting signal.
