A glass substrate having a protective glass attached thereto. The glass substrate is inhibited from developing mars on the back side in steps for producing a display, and is prevented from decreasing in strength during the steps and developing etch pits through chemical etching. Also provided are: a process for producing a display in which the glass substrate with a protective film is used; and a silicone for a release paper for use in producing the glass substrate having a protective glass. The glass substrate with a protective glass comprises a glass substrate and a back-protecting glass substrate laminated thereto, and is characterized in that the glass substrate and the back-protecting glass substrate have been laminated through a resin layer having removability.
