摘要 <p>The number of carriers used inside and outside a cell is optimized, and the use efficiency of the carriers is enhanced. A carrier allocation method for allocating carriers in a cellular system which comprises a wireless network composed of at least base stations and mobile stations and in which carriers can be used for communication between a base station and a mobile station is provided. In the method, the wireless network performs the following operations. The carriers are divided into a first carrier and a second carrier and allocated to cells each composed of base stations. The mobile stations are divided into intracell mobile station and intercell mobile station. The base station communicates with the intracell mobile station by means of the first carrier and with the intercell mobile station by means of the second carrier. By using the communicated data, the use state of the first carrier in a first cell out of cells is measured. Similarly by using the communicated data, the use state of the second carrier in a second cell out of the cells is measured. According to the measured use states of at least the first and second carriers in the first and second cells, the number of second carriers in the second cell is varied.</p>
