<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which can output a current and functions also as a secondary battery even when an amount of hydrogen supply to an anode or an amount of oxygen supply to a cathode gets short temporarily. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 includes an electrolyte membrane 12 having a proton conductivity, an anode 14, and a cathode 16. The anode 14 includes PdH which has a function of forming protons, and a function of consuming protons supplied from the cathode 16 after protons are formed wherein the proton forming and the proton consuming are performed by PdH's own oxidoreduction reaction. The cathode 16 includes MoO<SB>3</SB>which has a function of consuming protons supplied from the anode 14, and a function of forming protons after protons are consumed wherein the proton consuming and the proton forming are performed by MoO<SB>3</SB>'s own oxidoreduction reaction. In addition, an oxidoreduction potential of PdH is lower than that of MoO<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
