<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently radiate heat generated in a light source in a backlight device, having a light source generating heat such as a fluorescent tube, and to provide a liquid crystal display device that uses this. <P>SOLUTION: In an edge light type backlight device, provided with a fluorescent tube 23 retained via a rubber holder 32A in a holder 27B having a heat radiating function, a projection part 44, protruding from the holder toward outside and structured for thermally connecting to the chassis, is formed in the rubber holder 32A, and heat of the fluorescent tube 23 is radiated efficiently via the projection part 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
