<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a fault can not be detected at high speed on a multicast network. <P>SOLUTION: A monitor server has a generating and sending means for an answer request message which generates the answer request message containing answer probability and sends it out to a plurality of answer agents, a gathering means for answer messages from answer agents, and a gathering number comparing means of comparing the number of answer messages gathered by the answer message gathering means with the expected number of answer messages found from the answer probability and the total number of the answer agents. Each answer agent has an answer message sending-out means of determining whether or not an answer to the answer request message is necessary based upon the answer probability put in the answer request message and sending an answer message out, and the gathering number comparing means on the monitor server decides whether or not a fault occurs to the multicast network based upon a result of comparison between the expected number of answer messages and the number of the answer messages actually gathered by the answer message gathering means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
