PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift operation structure for a walking type working machine with a steering handle extending from the upper part of a transmission case in a cantilevered fashion, for allowing easy repairing work such as the replacement of components and enabling multi-stage sub shift operation. SOLUTION: On the lateral side face of the transmission case, a plurality of transmission shift shafts 63, 64 for main shift operation and a transmission shift shaft 26 for sub-shift operation are protruded in an extractable manner. A shift lever 76 is arranged on the upper part of the transmission case in a vertical and cross rocking operable manner. By the vertical rocking operation of the shift lever 76, the transmission shift shafts 63, 64 for main shift operation are selected and the transmission shift shaft 26 for sub-shift operation is operated to be shifted via a cam mechanism 83 arranged on the lateral outside of the transmission case. By the cross rocking operation of the shift lever 76, the selected transmission shift shafts 63, 64 for main shift operation are operated to be shifted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
