PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat knitting machine that avoids a situation in which knitting needles at both sides of a needlebed pull a knitting yarn against each other in round knitting of gloves and socks. SOLUTION: The tip of the arm of the lever 36 of a stitch cam R is brought into contact with a cylindrical part 39a projecting from the slide member 39 of the stitch cam R and slide member 39 of the stitch cam R and the stitch cam R are connected through connection members 39b and 39c. Similarly the tip of the lever 40 of a stitch cam L is brought into contact with the cylindrical part 44a of the slide member 44 of the stitch cam L and the slide member 44 of the stitch cam L and the stitch cam L are connected through connection members 44b and 44c. When the drive lever 31 of the stitch cam R is displaced in the arrow direction, the stitch cam R and the stitch cam L are displaced along long grooves 12R and 12L, respectively, and a stitch density is adjusted. The lever 40 of the stitch cam L is provided with a roller 43 at a change side of the stitch cam L to be brought into contact with the drive lever 32 of a raising cam and the stitch density control of the stitch cam L through the drive lever 31 of the stitch cam R is performed on the assumption that the raising cam projects so that the raising cam acts.
