PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for visual checking of a label while a disk is rotating. SOLUTION: A disk driving unit has a window for a liquid crystal shutter, which is installed in a surface facing a loaded disk, and comprises a rotation detecting means for detecting the rotation of the disk and a controlling means for imposing a voltage to the liquid crystal shutter by synchronizing the rotation.
