PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a ceramic structure free from swelling even under a humid atmosphere where moisture is present in the surroundings. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the ceramic structure has the steps of: manufacturing a hard porous carbon material (RB ceramic) powder; forming the RB ceramic powder into a green body having a prescribed shape; and firing the green body, wherein a step of washing the RB ceramic powder and/or the green body with water is provided before the step of firing the green body.
