PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning article which use a fiber layer effectively when cleaning, adequately take into account convenience, and excel in cleaning performance, the raising method of this cleaning article, and the production method of this cleaning article. SOLUTION: A cleaning article 10 has a handle insertion part 15 which is flat and cylindrical, provides fiber layers 11A-11D, includes a fiber bundle above and below the handle insertion part 15, respectively, and has a removable handle inserted in the handle insertion part 15. In the width direction of the cleaning article 10, the length of the width direction of members 13A, 13B which form the handle insertion part 15 is shorter than the length of the width direction of the fiber layers 11A-11D which consist of the fiber bundle.
