<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer capable of easily suppressing a temperature rise at an inlet of a reforming catalyst layer while heating well the reforming catalyst layer and capable of easily preventing the reforming catalyst from coking and an indirect internal reforming type SOFC capable of preventing the deterioration of a power generation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The reformer comprises a reaction vessel accommodating a reforming catalyst layer filled with a catalyst having a water vapor reforming function and an insulating material arranged around the inlet side edge of the reforming catalyst layer. The indirect internal reforming type solid oxide fuel cell comprises the reformer and a solid oxide fuel cell which uses a reformed gas obtained by the reformer as a fuel, where the reformer is arranged at the position to receive a thermal radiation from the solid oxide fuel cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
