<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently detect pixel block boundary where block noises are being generated. <P>SOLUTION: The absolute value of a difference is calculated for adjacent pixels for consecutive four pixels, having a block boundary sandwiched between a second pixel and a third pixel. Under the condition that the second derivative of the difference absolute value be not smaller than the threshold and the difference between the difference absolute value between a first pixel and the second pixel and a difference absolute value between the third pixel and a fourth pixel be not larger than a threshold, it is determined that a block distortion is occurring on the pixel block boundary. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
