<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical developer carrier designed such that despite repeated use, toner is sufficiently triboelectrified on the developer carrier, a uniform layer of toner is held and conveyed, and there is no difference in developing capability responding to development history, and to provide a strong developer carrier that is durable against severe environment. <P>SOLUTION: The developer carrier is obtained by forming, on the surface of a conductive substrate uniformly roughened, a coated film of nickel-phosphorus plating, a coated film of nickel-boron plating, a double-layered coated film of nickel-phosphorus plating of different phosphorus concentrations, or a double-layered coated film of nickel-phosphorus plating and nickel-boron plating. Despite repeated use, wear of the surface of the developer carrier is less, toner conveyance is retained, and satisfactory images are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
