PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of a built-in battery of a multi-function multiuse infrared LED remote control device by suppressing the consumption of the battery, while keeping transmission sensitivity of infrared beams. SOLUTION: A remote control transmitter 1 is in an approximately vertically-long flat shape; and at a tip in its longer axis direction, a first group of LEDs 41 for emitting an infrared beam towards the longer axis direction, and a second group of LEDs 42 for emitting an infrared beam upwards approximately vertically to an operation face 3 are arranged. A prompt signal to be sent out instantaneously when an operation key is depressed, is sent out from only the first group of LEDs 41. While, a delayed signal to be sent out at preset time by being operatively linked to a built-in timer in a transmitter body, is sent out from only the second group of LEDs 42.
