PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control the position of an optical pickup with a simple structure. SOLUTION: An optical pickup 9 is moved by a predetermined distance in a reverse direction after it is moved to the end of a moving range by a thread driving mechanism. Thus, even when the current position of the optical pickup 9 is not recognized, the optical pickup 9 is surely moved to a reference position without using any position detection means.
