PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that data recording becomes impossible due to deficiency of data management regions by restricting use of data management regions made in a read-in region of a recording medium. SOLUTION: The data managing method manages data recorded in a recording medium provided with a read-in region and a data recording region and being recordable only once, wherein the data recording region includes a first data management table for recording data management information including a recording position of data recorded for each recording of data, and the read-in region includes a second data management table for writing history information of a recording position of the first data management table. The data managing method includes steps (step S21 to S25) in which it is judged for each recording of data whether the data management information is recorded in the second data management table or not.
