PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost of an optical scanner by enabling a common movable mirror to be used for optical scanners different in mirror vibration speed. SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a mirror that is axially supported on a support in a manner rotatable by a torsion bar and that reflects an optical beam emitted from a light source; a fixed electrode installed in each part oppositely facing an electrode provided on both sides of the mirror; a mirror controller 100 that rotates the mirror by applying a voltage between the fixed electrode and the electrode of the mirror at a predetermined driving frequency; and a temperature adjusting device 102 that raises/lowers the temperature of the torsion bar. The mirror controller 100 makes the temperature adjusting device 102 to raise and lowers the temperature of the torsion bar to a target temperature that the torsion bar exhibits a spring constant corresponding to the predetermined driving frequency.
