<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structurally simple and easy-to-handle device for operating footplate of a wheelchair, which is excellent in safety. <P>SOLUTION: This device for operating footplate comprises a pair of mounting shafts 8 and 8 which are elongated forward from both the sides of the front of a main body frame 2, and a pair of foot plates 9 and 9, the side ends of which are rotatably journaled on the mounting shafts. An operating means 40 for connecting the foot plate 9 and a control lever 21 provided in the lateral portion of a main body frame 2 comprises an elastic tube 41 with moderate bendability and stretchability, a wire 42 which is slidably inserted into the elastic tube 41 and which enables the adjustment of pull-out length, and a fixing implement 43 for connecting and fixing the wire 42 to the elastic tube 41. An end of the wire 42 is connected to a back side portion of the foot plate 9 near the mounting shaft 8, and an end of the elastic tube 41 is connected to the control lever 21. When the control lever 21 is operated, the foot plate 9 is pulled up by the elastic tune 41 and the wire 42, and turned to a standby position (opening position) to be raised upward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
