PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control apparatus and a method therefor, a program, and an information apparatus control system with which the setting of functions specific to an information apparatus can be controlled remotely. SOLUTION: A video camera 101, provided with a video camera screen 102, is connected to a computer 103. The computer 103 includes a computer screen 106 and a pointing device 104, and virtually arranges the video camera screen 102 as a virtual video camera screen 107 adjacent to the computer screen 106. When a user uses the pointing device 104 to point out inside the video camera screen 107, the computer 103 sequentially transmits point information, such as coordinate data acquired from the pointing device 104 and a state of a click button 109 to the video camera 101.
