PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package sealing method which positions a package body and a lid with high precision and can excellently seal them with high hermeticity. SOLUTION: A sealing method for a crystal oscillator 10 seals a package body 20 in a vessel shape with a lid 35 made of a magnetic substance, where the package body 20 has a seam ring 30 in a ring shape on the peripheral end surface of a case 21 with an opening for taking in an element. The package body 20 is located on a package guiding plate 111 mounted on a package sealing apparatus 100, and the lid 35 is mounted on the peripheral end surface of the package body 20. The lid 35 and the package body 20 are attracted by four magnets 200 to 203 mounted on the package guiding plate 111, positioned in plan direction with positioning pawls 168, 169, and seam-welded together.
