<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input device enabling an operator to perform comfortable writing operation and capable of achieving highly accurate character recognition even when used in an environment where there are a lot of vibrations, such as in a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: Writing operation is guided by specifying characters being written by the operator and giving force corresponding to character candidates while being written to an operating element. Also, at a point where brush-strokes are branched, a reactive force is added so as to let the operator recognize them. Thus, the operator can perform accurate writing operation even in the environment where there are a lot of vibrations and highly accurate character recognition is possible as a result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
