PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melamine resin composition for commutator having especially excellent thermal stability and dimensional stability in addition to excellent adhesiveness to a metal segment constituting a commutator and provide a commutator part produced by using the composition. SOLUTION: The melamine resin composition for commutator contains a melamine resin containing an epoxy-modified melamine resin, a resol phenolic resin and glass fiber wherein the compounding mass ratio of the melamine resin to the resol phenolic resin (melamine resin/resol phenolic resin) is 80/20 to 50/50.
