PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device by which the color of a video displayed on an eye from the display device may be an original display color even when using a light-reducing tool such as sunglasses. SOLUTION: The video display device mounted on the head so as to display the video has: a video forming device 7 which generates luminous flux corresponding to the video; a light transmission member 2 on which the luminous flux is made incident from an incident surface and through which it is propagated; a reflection member 4 which emits the luminous flux propagated through the light transmission member 2 to the outside; and an emitting surface from which the luminous flux reflected by the reflection member 4 is emitted, and the video display device where the spectral transmittance of the incident surface and the emitting surface is not constant in a visible area has a function for changing the spectrum of the luminous flux generated by the video forming device so as to correct influence on the video displayed on the video device by the spectral transmittance of the incident surface and the emitting surface.
