PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a relatively simple mechanism, to implement an accurate and reliable appearance inspection and moreover, to improve the processing capability, in comparison with conventional belt conveyer systems, and to reduce the installation area. SOLUTION: A front and back face appearance inspecting apparatus of tablets forms two columns of the tablets on a conveyer 3. carries two column of the flat tablets t, in parallel in an upright attitude, captures an image of one face (a front face) of each tablet from the outside, outwardly turns the tablets on both tablet carrying paths 33, makes the other face (back face) not to be captured as the inside side face at upright attitude to be upwardly orientated in a procumbent state, and downwardly captures an image of the other face (back face). A side-face appearance inspecting apparatus is constituted of the outer circumference of a drum 5, by using a plurality of rotatable rollers 51, holds and carries the circular flat tablets t between two adjacent rollers 51 in upright attitude, and makes the tablets rotated on their axes by making the rollers 51 rotate.
