摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new laser gyro which provides higher sensitivity and lower power consumption. SOLUTION: The laser gyro comprises: a semiconductor laser element 100 for generating 1st and 2nd laser beams, equipped with ring-shaped optical path 40 (resonator) to propagate the optical path 40 in the mutually reverse directions; a coupling means (light guides 41 and 42) for extracting each of the 1st and 2nd laser beams from the optical path 40 to be overlapped; and a photodetector for monitoring the interference signal produced by these overlapped 1st and 2nd laser beams. In the optical path 40, an active region 40a, producing optical amplification and a passive region 40b that does not produce light amplification exist. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
