PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device by a highly durable differential transmission mechanism (taumel mechanism) without causing delamination in a resin layer of a bearing bush inside an externally toothed gear by improving the service durability of the differential transmission mechanism having the externally toothed gear to which the bearing bush is attached. SOLUTION: In the differential transmission mechanism, an internally toothed gear 1 is meshed with the externally toothed gear 2 having teeth slightly less in number than the internal gear, and a pair of wedge-shaped pieces 6 and 6' are arranged in an arcuate gap formed between the bearing bush 10 disposed in the shaft hole 3 of the externally toothed gear 2 and the small diameter portion of a cam 5 that is formed integrally with the shaft 4 of the internally toothed gear 1. The arrangement of the pair of wedge-shaped pieces 6 and 6' is such that tapered ends 6a and 6'a thereof are opposite to each other. At least the outer surfaces 6b and 6'b of the wedge-shaped pieces 6 and 6' are formed of a material having low sliding friction. This is because they function as frictional sliding contact surfaces when the wedge-shaped pieces 6 and 6' are pressed by the cam 5 that is formed integrally with the shaft 4 of the internally toothed gear 1 and moved in the arcuate gap in a sliding manner.
