The molten metal immersion process involves immersing a strip (3) in molten metal (13), etching to clean and activate the surface, and immersion to apply the metal layer. The strip is passed via a lock (4) in a vacuum chamber (1) for plasma-physical etching and then for immersion by an immersion device (11) in the molten metal, after which it is taken out of the vacuum chamber through the lock.
