A drinks container made of a laminated material which is a metal foil sandwiched between inner and outer plastic, paper or carton layers. The carton has a puncture aid for the insertion of a drinking straw. The penetration zone has a cruciform scored weak line whose outer edges translate to a radial circle. The weak lines are laser-cut, either as continuous lines or intermittent perforations.
