Compounds of general formula (I) C<SUB>x</SUB>F<SUB>y</SUB>-O-CF=CFW wherein x is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, y=2x +1, and wherein W is F, CF<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>F<SUB>5</SUB>, C<SUB>3</SUB>F<SUB>7</SUB>, or formula (II), C<SUB>x</SUB>F<SUB>y</SUB>-O-CX=CYZ wherein x and y have the meaning given above, X stands for H or F, Y stands for H or F and Z stands for H, F, CF<SUB>3</SUB> or C<SUB>2</SUB>F<SUB>5</SUB> with the proviso that at least one of X, Y or Z are H and that not more than 2 hydrogen atoms are contained in the compound of general formula (II), are suitable as or part of refrigerants, solvents, blowing agents, fire extinguishants, ORC liquids, heat transformer liquids, heat pipe liquids or aerosol-producing gases. Preferred co-refrigerants are CF<SUB>3</SUB>I, HFC-134a or one or more pentafluoropropenes.
