wherein each pixel circuit (1) comprises a drive transistor (7) and an electroluminescent device (8) connected in series between first and second supply potentials (Vdd, GND) via an intermediate node (9), a voltage storage element (6) connected to a control electrode of said drive transistor (7), a first switch (5) for connecting and disconnecting said voltage storage element (6) and said column electrode (2), and a second switch (10) for connecting and disconnecting said intermediate node (9) and said column electrode (2);
- and control means (17) for closing not more than one of said first and second switches (5;10) at a time.
