830,484. Drip travs: hotolate stoves; electric hotplate. OATLEY TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. Oct. 3, 1958 [July 5, 1957(2)], Nos. 21279/57 and 21280/57. Classes 39(3) and 126 In a hot plate 3 movable from a horizontal to a substantially vertical position, a drip tray below a pan support 8 has a container 14 along the edge which, in. the substantially vertical position of the hotplate 3, is the lowermost one, the container 14 having an opening directed across the tray 7 to trap spillage as the hotplate is tilted. The container 14 may be a casting or sheet metal pressing integral with, or sealed to, the tray 7 or it may be a separate member of anodized extruded aluminium. An annular flange 10 integral with or secured to the burner 9 or heating element (not shown) seals the burner 9 to the tray 7 by means of clamps 12 bolted to lugs projecting from the burner head, a heat resistant washer 11 being interposed between the flange 10 and tray 7. A preferably detachable sheet metal cover 15 is spaced from the tray 7 and encloses the underside of the burner 9 or heating element. In an electric hot-plate (not shown) a radiant spiral heating element has its ends turned down from: the plane of the pan support and has its rigid casing tube mounted on a substantially circular support which has a central cylindrical portion through which the electrical connections to the resistance element are made and which passes through, and is sealed to, the drip tray 7, as described above. |
