A solid ink stick with reliably encoded data is provided to keep ink stick data inside the ink stick more reliably without requiring a label or a tag. A solid ink stick(30) includes an ink stick body and at least one coded sensor feature unit(80). The ink stick body is coupled inside an ink loader of an imaging device, and has an outer surface including a bottom surface(52), a top surface(54), side surfaces(56), and end surfaces(61,62). One of the end surfaces is a leading end surface, and the other is a trailing end surface. The coded sensor feature unit is formed on the outer surface of the ink stick body, and has a plurality of code element patterns(84). Each of the code element patterns operates at least one sensor in a supply channel so as to generate an equally coded signal pattern.
