An image pickup apparatus is provided to solve a problem of the related that a zoom key should be manipulated by the index finger and the middle finger and it is difficult to manipulate the zoom key. A zoom key(14) for changing a viewing angle is disposed on an upper face(12b) of a grip part(12). The section of the grip part(12) at the side of a user is formed as a finger-contact face on which the user's thumb contacts. A finger-catching protrusion(21) is provided to allow the user's finger to contact thereon. The first and second manipulation-subject portions(14a,14b) are selectively manipulated by being pressed downwardly of the zoom key(14). A finger-contact concave portion(22) is formed at a section of the grip part at the side of an object to allow the user's finger to contact thereon.
